What are Invisalign Braces?

Invisalign braces are a removable, see-through orthodontic treatment, used as an alternative to traditional metal dental braces.

Being completely clear, these braces are far less noticeable than standard wire and bracket ones often worn by children and teenagers. Many people find them more comfortable, and they can be taken out at meal times.

These devices eliminate the effects on gums and supporting tissues other braces can have. You’re never too old to encounter problems that require your teeth to be straightened, but unfortunately there is a stigma attached to adult braces that some people simply cannot overcome – preferring to struggle on rather than undergo an effective orthodontic treatment that may leave them self-conscious about their appearance for a period of time.

The good news is that Invisalign accredited orthodontists, such as us here at the Hampstead Orthodontic Practice, can now offer Invisalign invisible braces as an alternative to standard adult braces. Teeth that are crowded, too far apart or have shifted since the removal of a conventional brace can be treated discreetly and effectively with Invisalign.

Studies have shown that Invisalign can be considered more hygienic than an adult brace as it can be easily removed at any time during treatment, allowing patients to eat and drink whatever and whenever they like. Invisalign is also free of metal or any kind of sharp edges, making it much more comfortable to wear and eliminating the risk of an allergic reaction.

I am excited to announce that our practice will be hosting an Invisalign Open Day on 21 October 2010.  This is an exclusive one-day event and it’s an opportunity for us to introduce and promote Invisalign to new patients.  We are offering FREE Invisalign consultations from 2 pm onwards on that day.
